  2. Remove the coating (typically 250µm for single-mode fibers) using a precision fiber stripper, applying uniform pressure to avoid microfractures .
  3. Clean the fiber with an IPA-soaked lint-free wipe, sliding it toward the fiber end until it squeaks, indicating it is free of oils and debris .
  4. Cleave the fiber using a precision cleaver to produce a flat, mirror-like end surface. Proper cleaving is critical to minimize splice loss .

Step 3: Install Fibers into the Splice Box

  1. Open the Huijue splice box and locate the splice tray.
  2. Place each prepared fiber into the V-groove or clamp of the tray, ensuring fibers are straight and not under tension. Maintain a minimum bending radius of 30 mm to prevent microbending losses .
  3. If using splice protection sleeves, slide them onto the fiber before splicing.

Step 4: Perform Fusion Splicing

  1. Align the fiber ends in the fusion splicer according to the manufacturer's instructions.
  2. Activate the splicer to create an electric arc, fusing the fibers together. The splicer will automatically check for alignment and splice quality .
  3. Once the splice is complete, carefully slide the protection sleeve over the fused joint and place it into the splice tray.

Step 5: Organize and Secure Fibers

  1. Route the fibers neatly within the splice tray, using the fiber management clips or channels provided in the Huijue box.
  2. Coil any excess fiber carefully to avoid sharp bends.
  3. Close the splice tray cover and secure the box lid to protect the splices from dust, moisture, and mechanical stress.

Step 6: Final Checks

  • Inspect each splice visually or with a fiber inspection microscope to ensure proper alignment and minimal loss.
  • Test the fiber continuity and insertion loss using an OTDR or power meter to confirm network performance.
  • Label each fiber for easy identification and future maintenance. By following these steps, you ensure that your Huijue fiber optic fusion splice box is installed safely, with high-quality, low-loss splices that maintain long-term network reliability .
